Bar top arcades have gotten their fair share of my income. While I rarely go to bars anymore, I do miss the MegaTouch consoles that many bars had, in one size or another. There are a fair share of units for sale on marketplaces like eBay and Facebook, but the value of these units are only going up since Merit, the company behind MegaTouch, went out of business in 2014.
So, rather than supporting a failing piece of hardware and trying to fit a clunky console in my home, I did the next best thing: I made my own version.
11-Ball was always my favorite game. I made a point to ensure I had the highest recorded score every MegaTouch I came in contact with. So, that’s where I started.
Then came more games, scoreboards, sounds, and even multiplayer. There’s a few takes on many classic games available, not just MegaTouch-based games. I loved JezzBall as a kid, so I’ve got my own version available here as well.
Having also spent a fair amount of time playing Hold ‘Em and NTN Trivia at Buffalo Wild Wings, these became the first multiplayer games on the platform.
New games are actively being developed, and I’m trying to figure out more interactive dashboards / scoreboards. I’ve got music planned for the future as well.
